The Great American BBQ Beer.

By

Summer is here and it’s time for my favorite summer activity, the BBQ!. So, what beer do I drink to wash down all the beautifully smoked steaks and burgers that I’m going to consume this summer? An “imperial pilsner” of course. Now for people that don’t know, imperial beers have been around since the beginning of time I would imagine. They are well known in the beer world as the extreme version of your favorite beer and many companies are coming out with there own version of imperial beers. You can find every flavor from a stout to an I.P.A. For the sake of the great American bbq I’m going to recommend the pilsner because of it’s strong bite and sweet flavorings that help offset the smoky flavor of bbq and the strong beef taste is well contrasted with the bite of the imperial’s contribution of the beer. I mean really who doesn’t like the flavor combination of sweet and smokey? So when you decide to get out the BBQ this summer and have some friends over for a great time don't forgett to stalk the cooler with your favorite imperial pilsner and enjoy.

Buffalo Filled Zucchini

1/2 pound ground bison
1 tbsp coarse seed mustard
1 tsp dried tarragon
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 tsp olive oil
2 zucchinis, about 4 inches in diameter
3 ounces Cheddar cheese
Salt and freshly ground black pepper.

While burgers cook, clean and slice zucchini in half lengthwise, brush with olive oil and place on grill. Grill 5 minutes, or until just tender. Remove from grill and when cool enough to handle, scoop out the seedy centers.

Crumble the bison burgers and stuff into prepared zucchini shells. Add salt and pepper to taste, and top with Cheddar cheese. Place in crimped foil and return to grill to cook until zucchini is completely tender and the cheese melts, about 7-10 minutes.
